So these Senators outlined this little remedy without ever looking at a file sharing program? To the best of my knowledge, they all have filter settings.

"blasted file-swapping networks as facilitators of child pornography distribution".

Interesting...since online child pornography has been around long before P2P programs stepped foot in the door. And do you really think people who are into child pornography will pull up short and stop when they read that "clear and conspicuous warning about legal risks"? Me neither.

"These programs expose our children to sexually explicit materials"

Well so does the entire internet if you allow it. So here's my remedy: keep your kid off the computer unless you're there to supervise them. Since when is a P2P program responsible for babysitting someone's kid? That's a parenting issue, not a tech issue.
