I agree, but conside Sun's marketing clout.
While I agree Solaris and Linux share much of the same heritage, the big advantage Sun has is a huge amount of marketing clout, name recognition, and of course some seroius money to put in to marketing it. Recently we seen the open source community asking for donations to advertize it in the New York times. Sun has no such limitation and could easily start a ad campaign and toss a billion dollars at it. Newspapers, radio, TV, etc...
