New product idea: lined passport case
Like someone joked about, removing the tin foil from your head, you can block the RFID transmission. If you don't want it read you keep it in your lined case. Most people have cases for their passport anyway.

I can see it now. "Three easy payments of $8.99 will get you a new passport case that blocks others from reading your passport without your knowledge."
