Ransom Love has been consistent

Ransom Love has actually been pretty consistent in his relationship with Linux. He has always gotten along very well with the philosophy of Linus Torvalds, but has clashed, at times bitterly, with the philosophy of Richard Stallman and the Free Software Foundation. And many of us who also disagree with Mr. Stallman's beliefs have been equally disturbed with Mr. Love's openly angry attack's on Mr. Stallman.

With all of their faults, the FSF people and Mr. Stallman have contributed greatly to the success of Linux (most of its components were created by them) and they deserve to be respected for that. Today's Linux is a tense conglomerate of Linus's kernel, Stallman's infrastructure, and the commercial world's high powered enhancements. Partisans on both sides of the spectrum continually take shots at the other side, but in reality, both need each other. The commercial world needs the FSF which is providing a free low cost foundation for their work. And the FSF needs the commercial world if Linux is to move forward in ways that will provide paying jobs for free software coders.
