It is pretty insane to continue to tolerate the abuse of software licensing be it traditional or some other scheme. Companies pay for the privilege of accepting onerous EULA's and live under the threat of BSA-prompted government thugs to enforce them. All for the ability to use a piece of software. It's as if these companies welcome the abuse.

The solution already exists. Adopt open platforms and OSS apps. Take it, use it. Even if a company has to pay a developer to modify a piece of OSS software to fit their needs they are still much better off. It's insane for anyone to continue to choose to be abused.
