You just don't get it, do you?

Back in the days just recollected, I was one of those PC users who defended my choice just as I do today (except today's choice is a PC running Linux, not DOS/Windows).

The fact of the matter is that yesteryear and now, when Mac users say that their system can do more than Jonny's PC, they are right. When I say that for the money they spent on a Mac, I could spend the same on a PC and run circles around the Mac, I am right.

The PC always excelled in any pure digital computing and number crunching wheras the Mac always excelled in analog computing (photographs, sounds, animations, etc) but dollar for dollar, I'd take the PC almost any day.

Now that Linux has --yes, I know I used the present tense-- come in to its own, and the AMD64 is the best bang for the buck in 64-bit computing, I will say that I'd choose the PC any day over the Mac.

Had MS built a more secure or even just a more stable product from back in the days of Win98 like they promised, or if MS did not kill OS/2, I would never consider a Mac at all.

As it stands, I never needed that much computing power so paying for a $600.00 system when I needed a $600.00 system was great for me. Some Mac users I know have purchased $3,000.00 systems because that is what they needed. More power to them (no pun intended). SOme PC users I know have purchased $1,000.00 systems when they needed $3,000.00 systems and did nothing but complain while my Mac friends point fingers and laugh.

Me, I just shout, "You idiot! What did I tell you? But nooooo. You didn't want to spend the money on more RAM or a good RAID 0 SATA sub-system or a better video card. Sure I can fix your system and stop your videos from being choppy or not saving --for about $2k worth of upgrades. What an idiot you are! ...And you know I'm going to charge you, right?"
