First of all, who said they need a gain in
functionality?

Second, functionality gain is not why they are
switching. And you apparently know that because
of your comment about the American owned
distribution.

I think even though I might have gone with a more
neutral distribution, such as the
free-in-every-sense Debian, once they have Linux,
it won't be difficult to switch to a different
distro if need be.
