What a joke
$12.4 million a year to train staff? What a joke! There's your problem right there. Switching from Windows to Linux, Linux to Windows, Mac OS to Linux, etc. would never cost that much to train, unless you have a bunch of morons running the computers. As stupid as users are, they can make the switch from one graphical OS to another quite easily. They'll make the same kinds of mistakes and cause the same types of problems no matter which system is being switched to or from.

In addition, six months after making the switch going from Windows to Linux (or Mac OS for that matter) all the users would be more productive since their systems will be more reliable and less virus affected. Did they calculate this into their numbers? Probably not. When it comes down to it, switching costs money, but not in training. However, it also would be worth it in long-term cost savings.
