A couple of things...
with a PC, you can choose the components - big plus to me. This also means that I can either build it myself, or repair it myself. You also can use it as a PC, i.e. email, web browsing, etc.

The other poster mentioned monthly fees, but I don't think that is an issue since you can get a lifetime subscription for fairly cheep.
