Although Apple Computer's combination of iTunes and iPod has proven pretty popular, Microsoft is betting that people want to do more with their music and that they want to be able to move video and pictures around as well.



So, naturally, we'll choose to go with a platform which not only doesn't play nice with others but is (as the CEO reminds us) engineered from the ground up to prevent us from moving content around.

Congratulations, MS! You're well on your way to winning this year's Orwell Prize.
