Linux don't support latest hardware!!
I had tried out number of linuxes OSes but Linux don't support
newer canon printers and even number os brands of scanners
like Mirotek Scanmaker, HP Scanners, Canon Scanners and more.
Linux is slow behind in hardware support for everything
including webcams to even some softwares like Yahoo
messenger with webcam support or still camera support. I don't
think Linux is too ready for desktop. My mac OSX support my
scanner and newer canon printers even webcam is all I neeeded
to run. Also I think Linux is not ease of use in installing
applications and can be complicate for beginners even dummies
to use it. So I reckon it will be years till it comes out supporting
newer hardware support.
