The reality Bit...
You must look at the reality here Bit. The legal system is a mess. Kodak knows it and that's why it filed suit. Sun knows it and that's why they settled.
I'm sure Sun weighed the $92 mil. against a possible judgement which could have been much worse. So not only did Sun choose to avoid the larger risk, apparently they are using the "we respect IP" card for all it's worth. Some of us know where they are going with that one.

Bit you need to face the fact that the courts are a mess, the patent and copyright systems have been thoroughly corrupted and these patent wars waged by incompetent, failing companies will hurt EVERYONE.
