Says you
---I was unable to install the last version of SuSE for my Athlon 64 system. ---

The fact you cannot read the simple instructions does not reflect on the product. It reflects on your own lack of abilities.

I downloaded the installation files to my machine, on a separate partition then installed it on my machine and three others on network. No problems, no hangs, no troubles.

From the SuSE website: If you want to install SUSE LINUX on several hosts in a network, download the entire installation directory together with all subdirectories. After you export these data to the local network with NFS, you can install SUSE LINUX on any client in the network.

Of course you can also do a local install and, if memory serves correctly, make the files available by HTTP and install that way.

Using this method installation is much faster than with CD install. All you gotta do is read the instructions...
