Yes, the CD is yours.
But not the software on it. You don't buy
Windows - you liscense the right to use it
according to the EULA. I bet you never bothered
to read it, either, did ya?

When you buy a Windows CD, about $1.50 goes to
pay for the CD and packaging. The resy pays for
what? The liscence key. That is it. You don't
own squat. Microsoft owns YOU.
