The new generation seems to pick up stuff on their own (making comp class pointless). So I am more worried about our and previous generations. The attitude I keep getting is, "I just want to learn _____. Teach me that, I don't need all this other 'basics'." What they don't understand is 80% of "_______" + troubleshooting can be learned on their own if they know the 'basics.' To make matters worse, they block out everything but what they want to learn.
It is very frustrating when people ask multiple simple questions never realizing that they are all different forms of the same one from yesterday.
What I would like is a nationwide test of somekind. Without the license, some PC usage rights would not be granted; like unprotected high-speed (and yes, only they should be charged for the ISP side firewall and virus scanner and what not). You want the full freedom of the net, then go get a netizenship.
