So you ARE saying M$ malware IS way too expensive and problematic
"Big clunky, overly integrated, platform lockin -- all true."

That equals
1. EXPENSIVE hardware requirements,
2. EXPENSIVE management nightmares from "Big
clunky,"
3. EXPENSIVE security nightmares from "overly
integrated," and
4. hideous cost inflation from "platform lockin..."

Don't ya love that GIANT SCAM involving recent M$
license agreements ("Pay more for nothing!") and that
WORTHLESS Software Assurance crap?

"but also -- cheap, easily deployable, point and click
maintenace, fire and forget installations. THIS is why
.Net, Office, windows 2003, sqlserver and the rest
continue to dominate."

"Cheap?!?" See above.

"... easily deployable, point and click maintenace..."
Huh?!? You ever try to deploy AD? Maintenance (in your
Universe) presumably includes things like *patches?*
Oh, there've been no problems with patches in the last
12 months, have there? Why, YES! $BILLIONS of $$
worth!

"...fire and forget installations...?!?!?!?!?!"
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...

I DON'T THINK SO. I think we're talking here about slick
advertizing and "hondling" the PHB's out of their shorts
and IT budgets.

M$ success doesn't just depend upon, but is
PREDICATED upon flat-out lies, sabotage, theft of IP,
extortion, coercion and unseemly influence (payoffs?) to
the gub'mint.
