Really, this is just a way to lock you in.
Notice that stand alone computers will expose the .Net API. This is nothing more than a cheap atempt to get you to use more Microsoft APIs and lock you in. Microsoft is going to have a very difficult time getting anybody to use this junk. The Chinese already gave it a big thumbs down and went with Sun. You will find almost nobody using this in Europe or Asia, and looks like the uptake in the US will be dismal too.
