So they got the technology right but the marketing term wrong. Well just as we would expect a "patch" for a technology mistake I think that M$ should remarket/repackage the .NET with new verbiage and a clearer focus on what it means. I would suggest using several terms for each aspect of the technology. As Orwell eluded to in 1984 "langauge controls thought" if we don't have the word for something we can't really "think" it. Using a broad and meaningless term like .NET is a hinderance to adoption and lucid discussion.
