Deployment and support.
I have to tell you, that .NET really makes all of that easy.. Added to the PDA functionality practically integrated with it, it really makes development very easy. Support is very easy as well. I remember having to build and support apps in a traditional Client / Server model and it was a bear. I can't stress enough how easy .NET makes it. I know the arguments with Vendor lock in, but at somepoint, you're "locked in" to someone. If not in payment, at least in design. No one really wants to support apps cross-platforms. While Java makes this much easier, it still has issues (I.E. Which VM are you running., etc. ) I've build apps in Java that current formatting was completely different, despite using the same Java code. Go figure.

If you're really looking to make a good decision, definately don't just take my word for it, nor anyone else on the boards.. Hire a couple of consulting teams to evaluate things, each one specializing in something else (J2EE and .NET wouldn't be bad.). Consume both reports and make the best decision you can. (even if you don't pick .NET.. happy )

And you only owe me if you try .NET.. happy And since you're talking Rehoboth, I'm willing for for-go my Donut craze for a nice big bucket of Thrasher's French Fries... Or a Pizza from Grotto. Or both.. happy
