Wheres the goal?
Okay, .NET on its original premise was to be an answer to Java. Do everything Java can do and better. Then, somehow, it drifted to thin clients. That thought was quickly followed by client based apps. Where is it going?

Not to start arguments but .NET is not faring well fighting against Java. Java is growing where its strong: server side. .NET supporters always say "it will catch up quickly". How many decades do developers have to wait?

Havent seen those thin clients yet. Anyone have a link to one?

Client apps is where .NET has also done miserable. VB programmers were suddenly finding their easy to use language suddenly made complex. For what gain? Oh, so VB can scale? How big of a VB app do you need? Most VB apps are small and to the point. Enterprise VB apps consisting of 100s of parts is just stupid.
