Short term win for the PeopleSoft shareholders.
I am disappointed to hear that Conway has been fired. As a JDEdwards World shop, we were pleasantly surprised by the smooth transition following Peoplesoft?s merger. We were seeing what we felt were positive changes to the good services and support we have been accustomed to since the mid-1990s when we purchased the JDEdwards product. I think it is logical to assume that Conway had a great deal to do with the success of this merger as well as the overall success of Peoplesoft since his tenure began.

This move by the board of Peoplesoft is an indication that our company must re-evaluate our future plans as they relate to Peoplesoft. I believe that it will be extremely difficult for Peoplesoft to convince the JDEdwards software community that their dismissal of Conway is in our best interest. Sadly, it looks like the short term profits that may be realized by the Peoplesoft shareholders will take priority over the long-term viability of Peoplesoft as a company.
