It's called losing your nerve.
It's not about Conway. It's about Duffield. There are some people
who can't relinquish control, so their companies can never be
any greater than they are. Sometimes they'll let someone else in
as CEO or president but they never really allow them to lead. In
other cases they let other people lead the organization, but as
soon as things get a little dicey, they lose their nerve and insist
on getting back in the driver's seat, and I think that's what we're
seeing here.

So now Duffield is the president, CEO and chairman of
Peoplesoft. Like that doesn't suggest someone has control
issues. Ironically, however, I bet he'll still try to blame Conway if
his company goes down the tubes.
