I think you've got it right.
If I were Conway, I couldn't think of a better time to get out, and
since they're saving him the trouble of resigning, he gets a nice
severance package out of the deal.

I don't think he'll have any trouble landing a new job either--not
that he really needs to. I could live pretty comfortably for a long
time on $2 million. I think there are a lot of people out there,
myself included, who don't think he's done anything wrong.
Peoplesoft's problem have nothing to do with Conway's
leadership.
