No actual benchmarks to back up what it says. Just useless rhetoric.

How are you supposed to "benchmark" the kind of differences mentioned on that page. Do you have a JVM with stack based objects lying around for me to try out?

FWIW I agree 100% with that page. These are fundamental problems with Java which cannot be fixed. Java is very good at little benchmarks but not real apps in a real world. You only have to try running a "real app" to see that all this "Java is as fast as C++" rhetoric is false.

You can tell me that Java is "fast enough" for your needs and I won't argue but there's no way that Java is as fast as C++ for anything more than applets/microbenchmarks.
