I think they need this...especially in the Linux world...
I know Linux is faster on the back end...but the desktop/windowed interface is soooo slow compared to MS. That's my only major complaint.
Now...before Linux lovers jump on this, keep in mind I speak from experience.

I have a second PC...its a little Cappuchino GX1... 900Mhz Celeron, 256MB RAM, 20GB HD. This is my test/play/beat up computer. In the last month it has ran Windows XP SP2, Lindows, Xandros Linux, Windows NT 4, Windows 2000 Advanced Server, Novell 5.1 and Novell 6. Oh, it also had a load of RedHat 9 on it about 3 months ago.
Basically, whenever I need to test something, I use this machine for it. One thing I have noticed is that even WinXPSP2 runs MUCH faster as a desktop than any version of Linux I put on it. It loads faster, opens and closes programs faster, and operates more smooth than Linux (KDE or Gnome).
So please don't respond telling me I don't know what I am talking about...proof is in the pudding...and I have a lot of pudding here.
