I would love to be this guy's rep! Oh the money I could make on Mike Cox... get out the check book baby!

Having said that, and being an admin in a next to completely Microsoft shop, I will say that I am in love with Microsoft's enterprise management via Active Directory, and 2003 server is a knock out! Bang for buck, Microsoft rules in the enterprise desktop market place. I am also a RH engineer and open source man for over a decade now. I still have not seen/implemented anything in the Linux world that comes close to GPOs which make management of the desktop easy. (Maybe Novell will suprise me soon)

But last night I had my wife "drive" on my FC2 laptop with GNOME2, Mozilla Firefox PC1, Xine, Open Office. Be aware that my grandmother could not have "tricked" it out like it is, but it works nonetheless. It was simply to prove a point to her that the linux community is coming on fast. She opened weather.com and watch the forecast directly with Realplayer as a plugin in the browser, she went to her favorite Internet radio station which worked with the FoxyAudio control - again right in the browser. I showed her the easy of navigating both a secured host in our home through ssh and our home Windows network (notice the contrast between secured linux and unsecured Microsoft home networks... Redmond..that's a problem) Frankly... Mike get you head out of the sand dude. Keep a machine in the corner running Fedora/SUSE/Debian... I don't care. But don't stay in ignorance buddy.

May Sun and Redhat continue to yell at each other. May they drive my beloved open source development community to showdowns that produce yet further amazing code. Go baby go!
