They are Both Hypocrites

The sentiment of the GPL that governs much (if not all) the software Red Had distributes, and some of the software Sun distributes, is non-commercial. As alluded to by No_Ax, it is a sentiment that says, ?What?s mine is yours, and what?s yours is mine.? It is a sentiment where everyone is expected to share code with one another; wear flowers in their hair, tie-?n-die apparel, and sandals, while singing obligatory folk songs. Ultimately both Red Hat and Sun use OSS in ways that serve their purposes; but Red Hat now feels the compulsion to preach the GPL religion while acting more and more like a proprietary company. Of course the biggest hypocrite of them all is IBM. IBM says, ?These OSS guys hate my enemies (MS in particular) just as much as I do. Let me throw a few bones at them, rub their noses with MS? scent, and stand back and let have at MS and all my competitors.?
