Browser-as-a-desktop nearly here then?
It would only be fitting that Google base their browser on Mozilla, since they are clearly taking over where Netscape left of to create a platform independent user environment.

I guess Microsoft's response will be to deliver even more closed, proprietary services and API's in Windows, since they no long have a browser.
