You missed the point
The point of the article is that losing the internet to some is like withdrawl from other activities. Tell me, if a avid soccer player lost the ability to play due to an injury, an injury the even kept them from watching the game at all, do you suppose they too might undergo some degree of withdrawl? Would you also call them lazy? Would not a person who lost the abilty to read possibly feel socially withdrawn? Would you call them antisocial?

The plain fact of the matter is people derive pleasure from the things they do. Most people will feel a little isolated or lost if they can no longer do what they enjoy. That includes playing on the internet, hiking in the woods, reading a book, or enjoying a cigarette.
