Unnamed executives - pfft
"If I'm streaming my collection to someone else, and no one's getting compensated for it, that's not OK," said one label executive, who asked not to be named.

And there we have it. It's not about piracy at all. It's just like that quote from an unnamed TV executive about how if you go to the bathroom during a commercial, you're stealing content. They talk about how the problem with P2P is that you're making the material available to EVERYONE...well, how much more Fair Use can you get than to let a friend on your buddy list listen to a song? How is that ANY different from letting a FRIEND borrow a CD? Should the RIAA be compensated for that? Should you have to pay each time you listen to a song? WTF?!?!

And they wonder why people are getting so sick of their crap. It's one thing to try to protect a copyright, it's another thing to try and gouge their own consumers. At least I can rest easy knowing that this type of behaviour will lead to the end of their industry as they know it as the inevitable backlash continue to grow, and to know they have no one to blame but themselves.
