You can't legislate stupidity
Sheesh. Another example of our legislators not having a clue. The answer to every problem is creating a new law to prevent it. Hmmmm .. Lets see. Murder has a law.. still happens, speeding has a law, still happens. Creating laws does nothing to prevent the problem and while it provides authority to act, it does not provide for the manpower to enforce, making them generally useless until some stupid smuck gets caught and the government decides to "make an example" to show how well the new law works.

You can't legislate the stupidity of untrained, lazy or just plain ignorant executives and administrators. There are ways to prevent this type of thing but as was mentioned in an article about Cisco and Anti-Virus companies teaming up to only allow users that meet the security specs set by the company to access the network, what happens when the CEO can't get on? Well... He/She(s) the Boss so we drop all our defences to accomodate the egomaniac. BULL... you drop your guard you deserve what ever comes in. No one person is worth the integrity of the company, I don't care who it is. But there are VERY few who will make the stand when push comes to shove.

I'll step down from my soapbox now. I'm sure there are some who will agree and some that won't with my comments/observations and thats fine. If I had all the right answers I would sinfully wealthy, living the life of luxury and could care less if corporate systems where infected with spyware. Since I'm here, writing this... well you know the rest happy ... My two cents...
