It seems that everyone is assuming that the Oracle buyout will go through, simply because the court ruled that Oracle can proceed with its attempt. Oracle still has to convince the shareholders to sell.
That said, it is unfortunate but true that the shareholders hold PeopleSoft's future in their hands. Which is as it should be. It would be disappointing if the takeover succeeds, but that's the risk one takes when a company goes public.
