You may well be correct about AOL's motives (the success of Mozilla Firefox might have actually given AOL some backbone), but this is still very embarassing for MS, since they are, as far as I can tell, the only vendor that has agreed to support SenderID, which cannot possibly survive as an MS-only technology unless a substantial number of server operators are willing to reject everything from a non-MS mailserver (any takers?).

If MS is really interested in promoting SenderID as an Internet standard, they are going to have to either liberalize their license or sign over the rights to the IETF. Their current stance is of no benefit to anyone, even themselves.

Now, let's see if this works and if I successfully lost the handle.
