This has always been MS's strategy
From the day they purchased DOS for $50k and resold it for millions to the current time, MS chooses agressive marketing over quality product. I believe they have done more to smother innovation than any company in history. Like the old hag you have to keep around for the sake of the children, windows is the piece of crap we have to keep around for the sake of software. The divorce will not be pleasant.
