Given that Mozilla does not support ActiveX, and that it's not integrated into the OS, that immediately gives it a leg up on IE as far as security goes.

Yet another good argument to make the switch. If all the script kiddies are targeting IE, and have detailed knowledge of how to hijack it, it only makes sense to switch to something that's less of a target.
