Too True
The browser is THE app for the internet, and it most probably will always be so. EVERYTHING in the future will somewhow run over the internet. The chance for profit and exposure at not the expense of opening up real offices around the world, will continue to drive the internet as the future medium of commerce. I can't think of the last time I started my machine to do something that didn't involve the internet. If M$ loses this seat, they will lose a ton. That was the whole point of bolting IE to Windows: Netscape offered the first cross platform, internet based, browser medium and sought to turn all PCs connecting to the internet into a kind of thin client. All apps would eventually run over the internet. This would have eventually meant the end of Windows if this became a reality, so now IE sits "snugly" in the kernel, or should I say, the Microsoft Windows Office Server System Family Planning for the Future Wonder Server 2003.
