You can Uninstall IE
This drastic though.

You have to remove explorer to do as that is where IE is tied to the OS. That means to get rid of IE you have no file manager. In more clear terms clicking on my computer won't works. You are left with just command line access to your folders.

From there you can get some other file managers but I've yet to find one that works a slick as Microsoft's file manager, which is IE.
