Whats wrong with running Longhorn on Sun servers?
I for one would welcome another choice for customers. If a customer wants both Sun hardware and MS software they should have that choice.

As for Solaris, Solaris is a great high end server OS that still has some advantages over Linux. As time goes on, though, I suspect that (as Sun has predicted) Solaris will become more and more just another Linux distro that ships with proprietary add ons. They are going to equip it to run Linux binaries natively. That is, in fact, the first step to making it a Linux distro with enhanced desktop capabilities as a result. Give them time, they will eventually get there.
