Exactly the same?
Those are YOUR words. Nowhere can I find any evidence that this is the case. They are simply setting some standards that make sure programs can work for all distros which follow these standards. Explain to me how setting a standard makes them exactly the same.

Keep in mind that web browsers follow standards, yet none are exactly the same. Some, like Opera, manage to sell their product even though others are free. If your statements were correct, that couldn't happen.
