Linux needs this
Linux cannot compete against its various vendors and Windows if it hopes to gain significant market share (including desktop). There must be one Linux that can be personalized by each vendor. The one Linux should be able to run all "Linux" apps. There needs to be a basic version of Linux that tests your app too. Call it Linux-Certified or something. This is a great step.
