again i ask...
if someone wants to give away his work so the world can benifit from it... what is so wrong with that? if he wants to retain more control, he can easily use a different license... it all depends on what the owner wants to do with his creation.

people fought for the ability for him to decide what he wants to do with his work... you then want to tell him he can't give it away for free? he STILL maintains his right to do what he choses... just because YOU and others can't convieve of giving away something for th ebenifit for others, why should everyone be so restricted?

When you create and sell IP (e.g. software), this is form of managing it. (After all, you are managing its distribution and sale.)
yes.. When you create AND sell IP.. but not all entities do that... where i work, we write a lot of applications.. NONE of them are made to sell, only to make ourselves more productive...

As for the difference between democracy and capitalism: it is democratic societies that usually stipulate property rights upon which capitalism thrives.
where? most of our countries inteh west are not pure democracies and many of them are atleast partially socialist (government controlled healthcare for example).
also, why can't a group of people be communist and democratic.. it's a natural fit.
