what business model?
you need the tool, you buy the tool... there is NO NEED for a busines model for the tool... not if your job has NOTHING to do with software design and distribution.

You are still ONLY thinking from the POV of the independent software vendor...

it's more like:
Need to do job:
Figure out what software functions would help do job:
Pay for Software to be made:
Save time and money using software to do yoru real job...

It doesn't matter if that software is open or closed.... it just needs to do my job.
