Society in general decides what is sleeze
And where did you read in my comment that I was the authority on sleeze anyway? Society is. Always has been. And our society considers child pornographers to be sleeze. If you don't believe me, take a poll.

But the courts decide what is legal ,which is what I was talking about, as I only used the word sleeze because the person I responded to used that word, by sleeze I was referring to "people commiting illegal acts". Much the same way you refer to people who illegally download songs and movies as sleeze (or if not that word, then one very much synonymous with sleeze). But you are correct, I should have choosen a better word.

Obviously claiming physical harm by looking at Madonna naked is nonsense, because nobody's forcing you to look at her. But if the subject of a picture is a child (who by legal definition is incappable of consenting to sexual conduct) and that child is engaging in sexual acts (and no, nudity in and of itself is not a sexual act), then that image is deemed illegal, and those who distribute it are committing a US federal crime.

Now maybe someone might get arrested for having a picture of their child taking a bath, but again, presumably you haven't seen this picture, so you don't know what the child is doing in the picture. If he or she is only taking a bath and nothing more, then yes they should not be found guilty.

This is all getting of the subject of the article though. The fact is that this law is the equivalent of policemen shooting aimlessly in a crowded shopping mall because they heard a cop killer was in that mall. Law enforcement in this country HAS to respect the rights of the innocent above taking away the rights of the guilty. Of course it's not a perfect system, but there is none better.
