Odds are they are used to using laptops!
Those that use laptops tend to have wireless and thus have mobility. This is becoming a trend and one of the reaons why WiFi and Mesh networks are popular around the world (don't start on WiMAX, there are no PCMCIA or internal options yet in laptops until 2006 or 2007). Many people, even students, tend to use laptops such that having a DSL or cable line is only local access and that is used to connect to a wireless access point or WiFi switch router.

Welcome to the wireless world!
