It would seem to me that Altnet is only playing the RIAA's game of suing due to infringement. If I were losing money to an unauthorized use of a patent (such as the RIAA claims with music, then turns and does with this patented technology) I would sue the bejeezes outta them.... especially the RIAA. In the case of the industry (RIAA) I wouldn't budge a bit and would force them into the same position that they forced us into....
