I experienced a SAP patch which broke FileMaker.

I would prefer that MS did not attach/incorporate programs to/into its kernal. While I find IE6 useful for some things, I would prefer to have the option to keep or remove it from my system completely.

However, this is a side matter. The real matter in the real world is that this service pack has been out in beta testing for months, companies had the chance to alter the very FEW conflicting programs and many chose not to take advantage. Given the tens of thousands of software packages available for Windows, at some point it stops being MS's program to ensure compatility with every single one of them, with the onous falling onto the maker(s) of those programs.
