Sony and Apple have similar values and
different market shares.

Simplicity of operation, great design, lifestyle enhancement and
very specific price points make both of them leaders.

Sony would be foolish to turn down the Apple offer because
ATRAC will never go anywhere, which makes Apple's offer
extremely generous.

Sony is missing the boat by thinking that people will value 3x as
many poorer quality songs over great sound, which is all ATRAC
does for the customer.

The only formats Apple doesn't support in iPod are proprietary
music formats. And Fair Play is not a showstopper for exporting
ITMS music to other players, just makes it inconvenient.
