D'oh!
Let's see, Sony rebuffs Apple, probably due to:

1) Sony CEO Nobuyuki Idei's rumored dislike of Steve Jobs

or

2) their entertainment division will not allow the electronics/computer people to sell a halfway decent digital music product for fear of piracy. They're apparently much happier to let everyone else get rich off this without any hope of ever stopping it.

So as a result, they miss the golden opportunity, launch their own already-forgotten ATRAC only store, and lose millions of dollars.

The question is, will they come crawling back to Apple now? And how will Apple react?
