The scariest part...
is that this whole thing is indicative of the way we have betrayed the founders of this country by allowing commercial interests to trump the need for accurate information to operate a democratic (small "d") society. I don't care about their copyright (which is being abused here, in any case) relative to the right of the people to be able to trust in the electoral process. There is no way this was ever the intent of copyright law.
