Coke does not do things the same way as 100 years ago.
They are constantly looking to cut costs and be more efficient anywhere they can. If they don't, the competition will bite them. The Coke name brand does not free them from inovating and reducing costs.

In Mexico, Coke is getting a lot of competion from a company that has a much lower cost structure: Big Cola. They have gained a lot of marke share in a very little time. They sell 3 liter bottles quite a bit cheaper than 2 liter bottles of Coke.

About the only thing that does not change at Coke is the basic formula, but other than that they are inovation like mad.
